Here’s my first freeby of the day. It’s a guitar software (plugin) called Tube Baby. If you have any recording software’s like Amplitube, Cakewalk or Acoustica Mixcraft, you may be able to use this as a ‘plugin’.

Here’s what the developer says about this product.

TubeBaby is a digital simulation of a tube guitar amplifier. As such it features the standard controls found on a real amplifier, namely gain, bass, mid, treble, presence, master and a switch for activating the high gain mode of the preamp stage. The latest version also features a menu that lets you choose between three amplifier types, five cabinet emulations and the amount of high frequency passing through the power amp section. The menu can be accessed by clicking on the TUBEBABY logo in the upper left corner of the plugin.

Now this software is a freeware. So Go ahead, check it out. I have used it for a few recordings and it works great! You do not need to worry about doing some jobs in retail to purchase this baby cos like I said, it’s free!!

The original developer is NIKO

As for me I’m the type of guitarist who doesn’t learn guitar scales and stuff. Everything is played just based on accidental findings and trying out stuff based on what I hear. If you say “play a blues scale” then I will try my best to play it based on what I have heard.

Okay. Maybe I’m talking crap here but how would you like to know what chord are you playiong at certain times. you know, as you strum along you just add the pinky finger and then it sounds so good you want to know what it’s called so you could perhaps use it for your current song that you are writing?

Check out this site called chordbook.com. I sure like how the interface of the website works. not only it’s a virtual guitar chord finder, you can even place a combination of chords on the guitar frets and find out what it’s called… cool or what? Go check it out yourself. You don’t even need such a big ram in your PC for this site.
