Gibson Guitar Celebrates The 50Th Anniversary Of The ES-335
A little bit history of the ES-335 model from Gibson. As per Wikipedia, (The Gibson ES-335 was the world’s first commercial semi-hollowbody electric guitar, released by Gibson Guitar Corporation in 1958. It is neither hollow nor solid; instead, a solid wood block runs through the center of its body, but the sides are hollow, sporting violin-style f-holes. The “ES” in the ES series stand for “electric Spanish.” )
The ES model has been associated with great recordings and performers. BB King,Noel Gallagher,Dave Grohl and Larry Carlton to name a few. And so, Gibson Guitar Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the ES-335 Guitar with Larry Carlton and Guests at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum - Monday, June 30, 2008. OK old news. Just so you know.. he he.
Attached is a video that may give us some idea on this fantastic model. It sure is nice to have one at home but I’ll leave that to deserving guitarists for now.

Let’s all celebrate the golden anniversary of one of the most amazing and enjoyable musical instruments ever crafted. I adore my 335 and can’t let a day pass without plugging it into my tweed Deluxe and dialing in some of that awesome tone. Incidentally, I recently posted one of my recordings with the ES just a few days ago. Check it out at on my blog, Guitar Dad, at guitardad.weebly.com. Thanks for sharing the love of the ES-335!
Paul- Thanks for dropping by buddy. The closest I could get to owning a Gibson guitar at this point of time is my Tokai “Love Rock”. Will be checking out your blog soon.
