Instrumental Blues with Gibson 1959 Les Paul – Gregor Hilden
Performed by Gregor Hilden & Band at the B & W Blues Festival feat. Tommy Schneller on sax. Gregor Hilden plays a original 1959er Gibson Les Paul Std. sunburst. The Amp is a 1982 Kitty Hawk Std. Amp (the one with the wooden cab). The other amps on the stage belongs to the other Bands who played on this festival the same night. No pedal used, but the cry baby wah. The overdrive is from the Kitty Hawk Std. Amp only (at 3:53 the lead-channel from the amp). This early Kitty hawk Amp is made very similar to the silverface Dumble Overdrive Special Website: www.gregorhilden.de A new DVD has been released recently. There are also a couple of CDs wich feature the 59 Les Paul. For non European Buyers: Check CD-Baby for ordering cds or I-Tunes

@YARBLES1969 Meh, i’d die very, very happy.
@seemeel Yes…I see what you mean. But if someone wants to trade you oxygen for that guitar dont do it. Because…you see, you’d die. Then you couldn’t play it and they’d probably just take it out of your cold, dead hands. Not a good trade IMO.
at least there is one modern blues musician who uses a nice clean tone!
did that guitar originally have a bigsby on it?..i think i can see where its been faded around where the bigsby was. i might be wrong tho.
@seemeel i second that notion sir
Not bad – for a European
cant stop watching this awesomeness
@GuitarFreakNation not more needed to say dude. thumbs up.

What a feeling, it´s great.
Tight band, great playing and my God what a guitar!!!
This whole group is in such sync together. Love the groove of these dudes flowing together. The sax player is just bad. He can down out right tell the news on his horn. I could listen to him play all night, and the lead guitar player is just so smooth and easy with his flow. This whole group has it going on. Grate sound, and dig it how the guitar player and sax player flow together. Boy, just love that sax player. He is super cool, and I mean super cool.
Thanx Jackle61 yes this sax player really “has it” great phrasing….makes me re-think the guitar somewhat……Greg is good but sax is GREAT….the phrasing is to die for……really makes the notes breathe…..
montyderhak: I agree with the sax phrasing, I can’t remember who it was, but, one of the early blues greats said just that. If you want to get better on the guitar,, listen to the phrasing of a great sax player.
Its hard to find gibsons in such good use. punks gave gibsons a bad name…
EXELENT
Hey solo don’t call me names, the lesson is listen to different stuff rather that typical blues cliche’s on guitar, no doubt I like Gregor he is great…. but .the sax has great great phrasing i am envious of the sax players phrasing, gonna sit here and cop some of it on guitar………
Fool. Greg is a great guitar player who doesn’t need to play a million notes to do it right. You have to learn the lesson.
Wow sax player handed this guy his ass…lol great phrasing by sax player great lesson to be learned
you see the keyboard-player (Thomas Hufschmidt) at 3:20
Do I hear a B-3 there in the background…???
Watching your stuff got me interested in the Okko pedals. Both the TwinSonic and Diablo sound great in your videos, but it seems like there are way more with the Diablo and like you have a little more gain available with that one even though I don’t think you have either of them set nearly at remote gain. Do you favor the Diablo? You’re getting a great soudn that’s very touch senstive, but the Diablo has a little more singing tone when you dig in. Is that my imagination? Thanks. Mike
that gibson is incredible. i was hooked from the first note
That was just excellent Gregor “WOW” looks like a great bunch of cats lol ,love the sound and would make Mr. Les Paul dam proud !!! Perfect !!!!!!!!!!
that guitar would even make me sound good
